About Us

As USC’s centralized civil rights office, OCRC (formerly the Office for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX or EEO-TIX) was created in 2020 as part of the university’s enhanced efforts to timely and appropriately respond to all reports of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. At the same time, USC announced its Policy on Prohibited Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (the Policy), which applies to all students, faculty, and staff.

The university encourages the prompt reporting of concerns about discrimination and harassment based on protected characteristics — including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking — involving students, staff, and faculty, and related retaliation. Title IX and the Policy prohibit retaliation against any individual who makes a good faith report or formal complaint, testifies, assists, or participates in an investigation, proceeding, or hearing under the Policy. To that end, prompt action will be taken to respond to or investigate concerns about retaliation under the Policy.

Advancing equal opportunity in university programs and activities, such as admissions and employment

Providing prevention, education, and training programs to promote and protect the civil rights of all university community members

To create a caring and effective office that is both proactive and responsive with its support to our community, the OCRC team includes experts and specialists in the following roles:
